Marriage blessings are happily performed and celebrated at St. Clare’s. The ceremony is a solemn public covenant between a man and a woman in the presence of God. In the Episcopal Church, at least one of the couple must be a baptized Christian, and there must be at least two witnesses for the ceremony at which the Rector presides. Marriage counseling is non-negotiable and when one of the parties has been previously married and divorced, the consent of the diocesan bishop must be obtained, prior to the solemnization of the marriage.
