Lenten series on Islam Led by Dr. Rudy Johnson During the six Sundays of the Lenten season, we will have a special class/seminar/discussion group on the Islamic religion on Sunday mornings between services. More than one billion people in the world are Muslim, and the Muslim population and the Islamic faith are growing rapidly in the United States. Yet most of us know very little about this religion, which has a close relationship to Christianity. At this time, the militant extremist Muslims are very active and dangerous, to us and to many people. Who are the extremists, and how do they relate to other Muslims? We will use a book which is readily available online or in local bookstores. The book is by Reza Aslan, the title: No god but God. If possible, we will have guests who can tell us more about the Islamic religion. If you know of someone who has special knowledge of this subject and might be willing to come and talk with us, let us know. Join us for this special Lenten series. |
