Taking the next step from just worshiping in the congregation to participating in a worship ministry can be a rewarding and enriching experience. Whether it’s arranging the flowers, reading the lessons, or making sure all are welcome in our church home, there is an opportunity for you to get involved.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors
A ministry of worship, LEM’s and Lectors read the bible lessons at Sunday worship. LEM’s also assist in setting the Altar for Holy Communion, distribute communion wine, and receive the offering during the service. Both LEM’s and Lectors are specially trained at St. Clare’s in association with our diocesan training program.

The acolyte program offers our youth an opportunity to become active participants in Sunday worship and other special days of celebration. Acolytes carry the Cross and candles and assist with other liturgical duties during the services. The program is open to all members, second grade through high school. All St. Clare's youth are encouraged to participate. Training opportunities are offered throughout the year. Sign up to become an acolyte.

Ushers and Greeters
Our greeters are the first friendly face a person sees when arriving at St. Clare’s! This important ministry of hospitality ensures that each person knows they are welcome to the household of God! The Ushers make sure everyone has what they need — bulletins, prayer books, hymnals, a place to sit, etc. — help direct traffic during communion, and collect the offering.
A ministry of worship, these teams of talented people take great pride in the care of preparing the altar and sanctuary for worship at all services. There’s always room for one more on the Altar Guild.

Talented individuals arrange the flowers on the altar each week. After worship, they deliver the flowers to those whose spirits need uplifting.
Everyone is invited to join us after each Sunday service, when we provide coffee, tea, and tasty treats. It’s an opportunity to make new friends, enjoy old ones, and to catch up on and to encourage each other. Helping host coffee hour is an easy next-step to get involved. Ask and we’ll team you up with an old hand!
