In its first season, the 2013-2014 Concert Series at St. Clare's is supported completely by donor contributions. Each program is approximately one hour in length and followed by a reception. A freewill offering will be collected.

A recital of audience favorites from the past four centuries. The versatile Johannus organ at St. Clare’s lends itself to a wide range of musical expression. The program includes the fiery Battala Imperial by Juan Cabanilles, Toccata and Fugue in D minor by J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn’s Sonata No. 2 for Organ, Jehan Alain’s sublime Variations on a Theme of Jannequin and the majestic Allegro Maestoso from Sir Edward Elgar’s Sonata in G, op. 28 for organ.
Sunday, December 8, 5 p.m. Advent Lessons & Carols
This service of Advent Lessons & Carols helps worshippers to prepare for the coming of Christ and the celebration of Christmas. Modeled after the popular Christmas Service of Nine Lessons & Carols, the service consists of a series of short readings from the Bible, interspersed with congregational singing of hymns for Advent and choral music presented by the choirs.
Readers will include leaders from in and around the Pleasanton community.
with St. Clare's Parish Choir, Angel Voices & the Amador Valley High School String Quartet.
A potluck dinner will follow the service.

Enjoy an afternoon performance of solo guitar featuring guitarist Glenn Staller. Performing regional works from France, Spain, Argentina, & Brazil. Featured composers include, Albeniz, Bach, Coste, Tárrega, Piazzolla, & Villa-Lobos.

Madrigals, mostly. Mayhem? Maybe…. Vita Voci present a cappella works from the Renaissance and early Baroque up to the 20th century, with a well-balanced tone and a touch of dry wit. Composed in the final weeks of his life, The Stabat Mater is one of Pergolesi's most celebrated sacred works.
