What a Glorious (not silent!) Night

Friday, December 12, was the night of the Preschool Christmas Program, and the 3rd Silent Auction Fundraiser. It was a beautiful night. Many families join St. Clare’s Christian Preschool because they are attracted to the idea of a Christian based philosophy and atmosphere for their preschoolers. Chapel time, saying prayers, saying grace, telling child appropriate bible stores, reflecting Christian values in all that we do, and finally the Christmas Program are a big part of what bring them to us. They surely turned up for the Christmas Program this year. We had 280 family members in the Church listening to the children sing Silent Night, Joy to World, What a Glorious Night, God Made Me, and the Angel Told the News, to name just a few.

After the performance the bidding began on our Silent Auction. The Preschool Board organizes the fundraiser, and this year raised $4,800. I extend a big thank you to Allison Ferro (Board member and Fundraising Chair), her colleagues on the Board, and all our families, who not only provided tons of items for the auction baskets, but then bought them too! We plan to use the money to cover part of the cost of new carpets and rugs for the Preschool in 2015.

On the night of the Christmas program we also had a visit from a special person, who dresses in red. See if you recognize who our Santa was from the photo (hint, think of our Vestry).

Merry Christmas, and God Bless.

Ms. Sue, Preschool Director
