Youth Group Pilgrimage to Ireland

Six of our young people and their chaperones had a life-changing experience in Ireland in August. They visited the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation, worshiped at Calary Parish Church, hiked along the Wicklow Way and along the coast from Bray to Kilcool, learned about the life and legacy of St. Brigid at the Cathedral and Holy Well named for her; kayaked on the Vartry River, visited the remains of the monastic community of St. Kevin, toured the Medieval Mile and historic sites of Killkenny, and climbed the Round Tower at St. Canice’s Cathedral — all powered by hearty Irish breakfasts of eggs, beans, sausages, bacon, soda bread, fruit and tea. In case you missed their posts on Face-book and their stories at the August 23 luncheon, here are a few of their pictures from the week.
