Lenten Class: Confirming our Faith continues through March 29

In our journey through life, we often face big questions: What is the meaning of life? Who is God? Why do people die and what happens after death? Throughout the ages, Christians have turned to the Bible and to the Church for answers.

Confirming our Faith is an introduction to Episcopal beliefs and practices, and is perfect for those who want to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church and for all those who want to know more about the essentials of the faith. We meet Sundays after church. Join us!

Palm Sunday: March 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Clare’s. We will begin on the garden patio of the church.

Maundy Thursday: April 2, at 5 p.m. at St. Bart’s, Livermore. This service will include foot washing and an Agape Meal. St. Clare’s parishioners should sign up on the kiosk to participate in this potluck Agape Meal, and to indicate if they need or can give a ride.

Watch Through the Night: Begins on Maundy Thursday, April 2, at 9 p.m. in the St.Clare’s sanctuary until midnight, then through the night at home. This vigil recalls Jesus’ request to his disciples “Could you not watch with me one hour?” The vigil ends with Morning Prayer at 9 a.m. on Good Friday.

Good Friday: April 3 at St. Clare’s. Morning prayer at 9 a.m. We will celebrate Holy Eucharist at noon, followed by Stations of the Cross, and Holy Eucharist with music and choir at 7 p.m.

The Great Vigil of Easter: Saturday, April 4 at 8 p.m. Please bring warm clothes and a flashlight as this service begins in darkness on St. Clare’s garden patio. As we tell the stories of God’s movement through creation and humanity, we’ll provide warm beverages and blankets to see us through our vigil as we light the new fire, then move into the sanctuary.

Easter Day: 10 a.m. at St. Clare’s. We pull out all the stops to ensure this is a remarkable service.

Easter Concert: My Utmost for His Highest, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the St. Clare’s sanctuary. An orchestra and our choir come together bringing all the joy and passion of the season.
